RENESTEN-V

Clotrimazole is an imidazole derivative with a broad spectrum of antimycotic activity which includes dermatophytes, yeasts and moulds in women by inserting the Pessaries high into the vagina using the applicator. It inhibits biosynthesis of the sterol ergostol, an important component of fungal cell membranes.

Mechanism of action
Clotrimazole exerts its effect by altering the fungal cell membrane. Clotrimazole inhibits ergosterol synthesis by interacting with 14-alpha demethylase, a cytochrome P-450 enzyme that is necessary for converting lanosterol to ergosterol, an essential component of the membrane.
Side effects
Vaginal/urethral burning/itching/pain, or lower abdominal cramps may occur and allergic reaction may include: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing
Contraindications
There are no known contraindications to use of Renesten V Pessaries, except Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
