Description

Indications
Coldease is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of cold, nasal bronchial congestion, fever and catarrh. It is also indicated in aches, pain and fever associated with cold and influenza.
Pharmacological Class
Paracetamol: Analgesic
Chlorpheniramine maleate: Antihistamine
Caffeine: CNS stimulant
Pseudophedrine Hydrochloride: Decongestant

Mechanism of Action
Paracetamol inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis under some circumstances
Chlorpheniramine Maleate is H1 antagonist (Antihistaminic).
Pseudoephedrine acts as a nasal and chest decongestant and caffeine is a Central Nervous System stimulant which thereby also improves the physical performance.
Caffeine increases energy metabolism throughout the brain but decreases at the same time cerebral blood flow, inducing a relative brain hypoperfusion.
Side Effects
Effects associated with Coldease; difficulty sleeping (insomnia), nervousness or anxiety, irritability, nausea, headache, usually depression of CNS, dizziness, vomiting, anorexia and abdominal pain.
Contraindications
Coldease capsule is contraindicated in the patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredient in it.
Drug Interactions
Drug interactions may occur with caffeine include; Quinolones (e.g ciprofloxacin), Theophyllines, Duloxetine and other drugs with its ingredients in it.
