Indication
KOF OFF is indicated for the treatment of: Allergic cough, Nasal congestion and as Expectorant
Pharmacological class
Chlorpheniramine maleate: Antihistamine
Pseudophedrine Hydrochloride: Decongestant

Mechanism of Action
Chlorpheniramine is known for its anti-allergic activity because it competes with histamine for H1 – receptor sites on effector cells in respiratory tract.
Pseudoephedrine acts as a nasal and chest decongestant and caffeine is a Central Nervous System stimulant which thereby also improves the physical performance.
Ammonium chloride possesses a secretomotor activity – stimulates the respiratory tract epithelial cilia movement, directed to mouth, and facilitates expectoration. It exerts some stimulating action on the respiratory center, which improves the expectoration – stimulating effect.

Contraindications
KOF OFF is contraindicated in the patients having known hypersensitivity to any component present in the formulation. Chlorpheniramine maleate and Pseudoephedrine HCl should not be used with monoamino oxidase inhititors.
Drug interaction
KOFF OFF contains CNS depressants (Increases sedation), MAO inhibitors (Increases anticholinergic effects) and reaction with Alcohol use (Additive sedation may occur).
